2005 BAC Craft Awards
The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) presented a total of 22 awards to BAC craftworkers, officers and union contractors at an awards ceremony held in conjunction with its fall Executive Council meeting in Las Vegas. Now in its 22nd year, the BAC Craft Awards program recognizes the talented professionals who continue to drive North America's masonry industry forward.
BAC President, John J. Flynn, praised the 2005 winners, who he said collectively, "illustrate the sheer magnificence of the BAC crafts, members' skills, and the spirit of service and collaboration that members and signatory contractors bring to their work and to their communities."
Since 1986, the BAC Craft Awards program has saluted BAC Local Unions and members for excellence in the trowel trades and distinguished service to their local unions and communities. Projects submitted must be completed no more than five years before the entry deadline. A jury, whose members are knowledgeable and involved in the areas they are evaluating, determines the award winners in each category. The total number of awards may vary each year, depending on the pool of entries received in each category.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the BAC represents 100,000 skilled masonry workers in the United States and Canada. With more than a century of protecting the rights of our workers, BAC is the oldest continuous construction union in North America. To learn more about the BAC, visit www.bacweb.org.
