This is a continuation of the photo review showing the many fine displays that were exhibited at the '63 Educational Trade Show by MCAA Members. In future issues of Masonry additional displays will be featured.


Awarded First Prize

Awarded First Prize by the Chamber of Commerce of the Borough of Queens, New York City for Excellence in Design and Civic value was the Bell System Communications Center, New York International Airport. Architects were Voorhees, Walker, Smith, Smith & Haines with Ray Contracting Co., Syosset, N. Y., MCAA Member the Masonry Contractor. Auserell & Sons Contracting Corp. were the builders.




The Alameda Building in downtown Tuscon, Ariz. shows the interesting shadow treatment created by Architect Irvin E. Finical, Tuscon, through the use of 2" x 2 x 2' concrete gold colored faced tile. MCAA Member Guy Apple, Phoenix, Ariz. was the Masonry Contractor.




The World Trade Center B in Houston, Texas, expanding the many sophisticated building drama and dimension by the architectural firm of Crain & Anderson with structure being done by H Co., Inc., Pasadena, Texas, H. A. Loft, Inc., was the General Contractor. The photo to the right shows the effect created by an imaginative masonry on the lower facade.
