The Scot was heatedly contesting the amount of his fare with the train conductor. Finally, out of patience, the conductor snatched up the Scot's suitcase and tossed it off the train, just as it was crossing a bridge. The case landed with a splash, in the revine below. "Hoot man!" Screamed MacTavish. "First ye try to rob me and now you have drowned me little boy!"

The teacher was giving her class of third-graders a lesson in association. "Now try to picture this scene. The man is on the river bank, and slips, falling into the river. As he is trashing about, his wife, hearing his scream and knowing that he can't swim, rushes to the bank! Why does she rush to the bank?" From the rear of the room came a candid answer. "to draw out his insurance money!"
