The new wing also provides shower and locker facilities, Physical Ed Offices, Kitchenette for use with the Purpose Room. In the connecting corridor, a Teacher's Lounge is provided complete with cabinet and a small Kitchenette Unit for the use of the faculty on retreat.
The old gymnasium-auditorium of the existing building was divided horizontally into two floors providing Kindergarten Classrooms and four upper-grade classrooms. The old Principal's Office was converted into a Clinic and the Principal and General Office was added directly across the hall by remodeling former classroom facilities. These revisions in the old building incorporating all the latest educational facilities have been used as normally found in a new school. The interiors of the classrooms provide a harmonious color scheme with spot primary colors being used in Storage, Book Cabinets and Sink Units. The floor tile pattern harmonizes with the overall color scheme using a muted gray with accent spot colors of primary colors and providing a game circle in the Kindergarten Rooms. All ceilings were finished in a pinpoint acoustical tile with shielded flourscent lighting throughout.

Dr. Oliver Bowles, chief federal geologist, Washington, D. C., has stated that, in his opinion, "Indiana limestone probably wears at the rate of two-fifths of one inch in a 100 year period." Although there are many cases of actual weathering, without maintenance, of Indiana limestone buildings over 100 years old-some 150 years and thousands over 50 years-there is no "accellerated weathering test" for the famous product. However, Dr. Bowles is probably the only authority in this subject, if the actual proof is not enough. Dr. Bowles said that Indiana limestone was selected for the Washington Cathedral because of the slow weathering of this stone, found only in a few small Southern Indiana counties.
