WAL-LOK
MORTAR JOINT REINFORCING

BECAUSE:
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REINFORCING IN MASONRY WALLS DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT AND TENSILE STRENGTH OF THE STEEL IN THE MORTAR AND THE BOND OF THIS STEEL TO THE MORTAR.

WAL-LOK puts 19.2% more steel in the mortar where it counts.

WAL-LOK is double deformed for maximum bond.

TENSILE STRENGTH of steel is retained.

PROJECTING CROSSRODS give 4 mortar locks at each weld.

CROSSRODS hold WAL-LOK up for complete embedment.

WAL-LOK, in all grades, complies with or exceeds Government specifications.

fiber brush and sponged or hosed off with clear water. Also, a strong solution of detergent and water applied with a stiff fiber brush will clean off recent grime.

Many special stains can be removed, too. Lipstick can be removed with carbon tetrachloride. Redwood stains will come off limestone with ordinary household bleach. Oil and grease can usually be removed by making a paste of Fuller's Earth and benzine. If copper or bronze stains, green in color, appear, they can be removed with sodium cyanide. Of course, this chemical is virulent poison and extreme care must be taken. Even rust stains, while be permanent in the stone because of a reaction that occurs between iron and calcium, can be bleached out with a solution of oxalic acid and water.

A clean building is an asset to any business. Indiana Limestone is used because of its durability and the ease with which it can be shaped. An occasional cleaning and treatment will keep a limestone building looking new and the stone quarry-bright.

The above figures show that silicone in the stone, or when added to the mortar, does not reduce the to the point that the mortal when used for the purpose in is appreciably affected.

How much silicone should be The amount of silicone absorbed the stone is the determining. Tests show that 3% solids is the maximum on Indiana Limestone. Temporary discolorations will on some formations of limestone when a higher percentage is. Less than 2% will not provide quate coverage to obtain the repellency needed. Here again various qualities and formations the stone limit a universal p. In almost all cases, three pere-ids should be adequate.

Treating the stone as outlined equally effective on reconditioning old limestone that has been c. It won't do much good to treat containing cracks, though, the treatment won't bridge cr.

Treatments are not the answer all problems. They can help the construction problems of dation. But if no treatments a the discoloration problem is with a few months of exposure. Treatments can reduce dirt accun for periods up to ten years, depending on locale.
