Stockholders of Zonolite Co. have approved the proposal to sell the company's assets to W. R. Grace & Co. Nearly 90 percent of the stockholders at a special meeting approved the proposal while less than 2 percent voted against it.


rson Named Director
Washington, D. C. Richard W. Otterson, sales manager of the Evans Brick Company, Uhrichville, Ohio, has been named executive director of Structural Clay Products Institute. William S. Sells, president of SCPI, announced Otterson will assume his new duties on May 1.

Otterson was director of SCPI's regional office in Chicago and in 1954 and 1955, executive secretary of the Building Materials Institute, Akron, Ohio. He joined Evans Brick Company in 1955.

Absent from the photo is Pat Filippi, re-elected Director of the Association. The group held its monthly meeting at the Des Plaines Elk Club, Des Plaines, Illinois, on Wednesday, March 20. In addition to the election the group heard from Paul Boyd, representative of Owens-Illinois Glass Company and Jack Jacobsen, representative of Joseph K. Dennis Insurance Company, the insurance consultants for the Association.


AIA Names 35 New Fellows
Washington, D.C. The American Institute of Architects will advance 35 members to the rank of Fellow at its 1963 convention May 5-9 in Miami, President Henry L. Wright announced.

The honor is bestowed for distinguished performance in architectural design, literature, education, public service or service to the AIA. Less than four per cent of the Institute's current membership of over 15,000 are Fellows.

Selection was made by a Jury of Fellows composed of George B. Allison, Los Angeles, California, chairman: Arthur Q. Davis, New Orleans, Louisiana; Alfred Shaw, Chicago, Illinois; Harold T. Spitznagel, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Walter E. Campbell, Boston, Massachusetts; and R. Max Brooks, Austin, Texas.
