Champion Heater Company of St. Louis, Missouri, has announced a new 1964-65 line of Job Maker Portable Space Heaters.

The four models consist of the Lil Champ (90,030 B.T.U. class), The Champ (158,000 B.T.U. class), the Big Champ-T (250,000 B.T.U. class) and a vented heater for use with a stack (140,000 B.T.U. class).

Champion Heater Company says that each Job Maker heater circulates more heated air over a larger area than any heater in its class.

The new models all feature automatic purging for complete combustion, Underwriter Approved motor and burner units, rust-proof turnplate fuel tanks and higher-pressure burner systems. Except for the Lil Champ model, the heaters have two separate sources of air, one to support and one to circulate heated air. They move about easily on semi-pneumatic tires and are equipped with steel carrying handles. The Big Champ and the vented heater feature automatic thermostat as standard equipment. The Lil Champ and the Champ models are also available with automatic thermostat.

The fuel capacity of these new CHAMPION Job Maker Heaters ranges from 12-15 hours, depending on the model. They burn kerosene or No. 1 fuel oil and operate on standard 110 Volt, AC current. Douglas Motors Corporation of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has announced the development of a new Model 660 Plaster-Mortar Mixer. This new model has recently completed its test program successfully and is being introduced to the mason trade for the very first time. It will be offered to the trade under two of the company's well-established brand names, Western and Big Chief.

Major features include a more than adequate two bag capacity, 4.80 x 15 tires on Timken bearing wheels for high speed trailing, sealed bearings that are "lifetime" lubricated, heavy-duty frame construction, and fast mixing action. Douglas Motors Corporation points out that the real innovation behind this machine is the fact that it is a two bag, high production mixer that will discharge directly into a wheelbarrow without blocking the wheels or the post, at a cost that is lower than other machines fulfilling the same requirements.

A variety of options can be provided, including four gasoline or electric power units, telescoping axles, and rubber mixing blades.

The 660 is a continuation of a complete line of plaster-mortar and concrete mixers which has provided the industry with quality machines for many years. For more information, contact: Douglas Motors Corporation, 1234 North 62nd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53213.

A twist of a dial changes this lightweight electric rotary impact tool from a heavy duty drill to an impacter in less than one second. Designed to replace tools weighing as much as 45 pounds, this 18-1/2 pound double-duty tool features a patent pending "Selective-action" that provides a versatile tool for all drilling-impacting needs.

Operating at 550 rpm (under load) the tool provides 8,250 impact pounds-per-minute for speeding the drilling of concrete, brick, tile, marble, wood, metal, and similar materials.

Lightweight housing features generous air vents for ample heat dissipation, streamlined design for efficient handling in tight places, and instantly-responsive trigger switch. Operating mechanism is completely sealed and lubricated, eliminating maintenance and frequent cleaning.

The tool comes ready-to-operate in a heavy 18 gauge steel, piano hinged, carrying case. Four GE Carboloy carbide-tipped drills, 7/16 in. 1/2 in. 5/8 in. and 3/4 in. are included. New fluted drill design reduces clogging and feedback.

Industrially rated at 6 amps, the tool is fully guaranteed with repair or replacement guaranteed if any failure occurs within the warranty period. Takes solid bits up to 1-1/2 in. and core drills up to 2-1/2 in. without the need for special adaptors.

Universal Manufacturing Corp., Zelienople, Pa, has issued new bulletins dealing with two of its specialty hoists.

One describes Universal's Scaf-O-Matic hoist which can put up to 750 lbs. of building material on the job in seconds. The bulletin explains how the Scaf-O-Matic helps contractors move material on the job faster at less cost than with other hoisting methods.

Also described are such features are Scaf-O-Matic's adaptability to fit any standard scaffold: why it's ideal for limited space; how it lifts high as the scaffold itself; and why its safe, sturdy construction minimizes the chance of accidents.

The other new bulletin covers Universal's Builder's hoist, a portable hoisting units designed to speed material handling.

This powerful, lightweight hoist can be powered by gasoline or electricity. The bulletin points out how the Builder's Hoist offers more efficient production, more profitable operations and more profit per job than old-fashioned manually operated hoisting devices.

Both bulletins are available free from Universal Manufacturing Corp., Zelienople, Pa.

Dur-O-wal, has issued a new 8-page technical bulletin entitled "Effect of Type of Metal Tie on the Horizontal Flexural Strength of Cavity Walls"

Information for this bulletin was developed in an investigation conducted at the IIT Research Institute. The bulletin discusses comparative test data on the flexural properties of cavity walls built with rectangular wire ties and two types of masonry wall joint reinforcement.

The bulletin is liberally illustrated and the supporting test data is included.

Perltex Concrete Spackling Compound is a new product for application expressly for application to masonry wall and ceiling surfaces to fill, level, and patch voids, joinings, and other imperfections in the concrete.

The product is a concentrate that is mixed on the job with masonry or mortar cement and water. Designed for use over large areas, it can be machine-sprayed or troweled on with hand tools. Other advantages of Perltex Concrete Spackling Compound are complete compatibility with concrete, strong bond, and practically no shrinkage. It is lightweight and "fatty" in texture, so it works easily and feathers out smoothly because the aggregate is finer and softer than silica sand. The Compound is usually used in preparation for Perltex Spray Surfacer or similar texture products. Color is light gray. Packaged in 25-pound bags.

Bonded Products, Portland, Ore, has added a complete selection of core drills and diamond core bits to its line of construction specially products, Joseph H. Todd, vice president-marketing announced last week. Initial distribution of the new equipment will be through the company's network of U.S. distributors.

The new Bonded Products core drills are available in five different models designed to handle any drilling job from 14 in. to 12 in. in diameter. The largest of the five new models is the husky BD-1200 which is capable of easily drilling through the hardest, steel reinforced concrete. Powered by a big 3-42 HP, 18 amp Black & Decker motor, this model can be run at speeds of 350 or 900 RPM enabling an operator to change speeds instantly while the motor is running if the bit should hit reinforcing rod or a different aggregate.

This feature is also engineered into the 2-14 HP, 12 amp Model BD-800 which is designed to drill holes to 8 in. in diameter. A third model, the BD-650, is identical to the BD-800 except for a single-speed motor. This drill will accommodate bits up to 6-12 in. and is available in speeds of 350, 600 or 900 RPM to suit every drilling requirement.

Complementing the five core drill models is a complete new line of Bonded Products diamond core bits, ranging in size from in. to 14 in. in diameter and from 4-1½ in. to 12 in. in core length. In addition to core drills and diamond core bits, Bonded Products manufactures and distributes powder actuated tools and accessories, a wide variety of construction anchors and pin-Fast percussive stud welding equipment for fastening insulation to metal. Distributorships are still available in some key marketing areas, according to Donald R. Walker, Bonded Products distribution manager.

The Prime-Mover Co. is introducing a line of manual hydraulic brick carts to supplement their new line of powered Mason Tender units. Designed for use on scaffolds and limited floor load areas, the H-Series carts have large tires and Timken bearings for easy rolling.

A few strokes of the handle lift a 1500 lb. load five inches for easy delivery from stockpile to mason. The sealed hydraulic system is designed and manufactured by The Prime Mover Co. and has been in use for five years on Prime-Mover industrial pallet trucks. Brake lever is located so that users hands never leave the steering handles.

A variety of sizes, heights, and accessories are offered to fit all types of masonry packages.
