The Charger
The pioneering Champ Corporation, originator of towable lift trucks, now introduces the new low silhouette general purpose Charger the twentieth model in this versatile line.
The low silhouette, high under clearance Charger features extra wide tires for maximum floatation.
All four tires are the same size, 12 x 16.5, providing 300 square inches of contact area at least 50% more than the conventional lift truck. This model is also available with 4 75 drive tires for even greater flotation. Other special features include ease mounting and dismounting, and removable fenders for convenient access the motor. The Champ Charger has wide applications for industrial use, and particularly suitable for agricultural jobs. It has undergone rugged field tests.
Like all Champ lift trucks, the Charger is towable without a trailer at maximum highway speeds. Other standard features include the exclusive Champ trunnion mounted steer axle or "level-iner", power brakes and power steering. As with all Champ models, parts and service are readily available, and maintenance is minimum.
The Champ line is noted for "multi-purpose" uses of its towable lift trucks, which range in capacities from 4,000 to 12,000 pounds, with lifting heights up to 30.

New Bulletin
Universal Manufacturing Corp, Zelienople, Pa, has issued a new bulletin describing its Ezelift Bracket, a winch-elevator platform for masons.
The brochure explains how, by flipping a winch trigger and pumping a handle, the mason and his material are positioned quickly and efficiently with the next course at "work bench" height. Also described are the easy operation of Ezelift's four major parts: bracket, winch, guides and hanger. Universal's Ezelift Bracket fits any standard 6 foot scaffolding. It insures an even flow of material, conveniently spotted as work progresses. Less platform and material handling is required.
Copies of the new "Universal Ezelift Bracket" bulletin are available from Universal Manufacturing Corp., Zelienople, Pa.
Scaffolding
Bucky Arnes Masonry Company, Tallmadge (Akron), Ohio, found itself faced with unusual physical problems in constructing the Southerly Sewage Disposal Plant for the City of Cleveland. A sloping and uneven site, combined with concrete steps and bunkers, and a 4 ft. wide reinforced concrete canopy protruding from the wall, made scaffolding extremely difficult.
The solution was found in versatile Morgen Adjustable Scaffolding.
Morgen towers are in the center of the working platforms, so mason's platform, extended to three planks wide, reached across the canopy with ease. There was no need to shore up the canopy to support conventional scaffolding.
Some Morgen towers were set on top of the concrete bunkers, Others were placed on the stairways. Each carriage has a built-in winch to adjust platform height, thus providing a level platform in spite of sloping or uneven ground.
Arnes used 74 Morgen towers, 46 ft. high, in building 850 lineal feet of 8 in. solid brick exterior walls 49 ft. high. Completely assembled pairs of towers were moved from one section of wall to the next by fork lift truck, With the building closed in before bad weather struck, Arnes moved his Morgen Scaffolding inside to lay a 4 in. tile back-up, gaining additional speed by providing a constant level for masons to do more uniform work.
Arnes laid 450,000 bricks in seven weeks despite a shortage of masons in a peak season.
Mason Tender
A new line of powered Mason Tenders has been announced by The Prime-Mover Co. These new straddle type transporters and fork lifts are available in a range of machine sizes and lifting heights to handle all palletized or packaged brick, block, stone, and tile for the mason contractor.
The new line introduces a new wider selection for this type of equipment plus many new operating and control features, leading to greater material handling economy.
A new, modern hydostatic drive gives easier machine control, instant forward and reverse travel with no rlutrhing or gear shifting, a wide range of maneuvering and travel speeds and an instant dead man brake.
Rotating handle grips control the unit's forward and reverse travel. When the handle grip is released, it automatically returns to the brake position.
The user of this new equipment can select from a range of machine widths to handle virtually all sized pallets and building material packages. In addition, three interchangeable hydraulically telescoping masts are available 12 in. lifting height when the unit is set up as a transporting machine only, ft. 6 in. lifting height, or & ft. 6 in. lifting height. All masts tilt hydraulically for easiest lond entry and exit. Each machine easily handles 1500 lbs. travellington up to 20% gradessith fast, lifting actionu full mast height. Power is supplied by an h.p. gasoline engine which is also available with LPG fuel system.
Along with the new powered line of Mason Tenders, Prime Mover is also introducing a new line of hand operated hydraulic equipment to handle all sizes of building material, pallets, and packages.

Portable Crane
A new portable hydraulic floor crane that can be knocked down and reassembled in a few minutes has been developed by Air Technical Industries, manufacturer of material handling and shop equipment. When disassembled, the new crane, called the V-Master can be transported easily to another location, or can be storec as a compact package in very little space.
Although the V-Master weighs only approximately 150 pounds it has a load capacity of 1000 pounds and is engineered for maximum safety and durability. It is reinforced at all stress points, ane its exclusive wide-track V-bar base design provides a high degree of stability.
The V-Master can lift to a height of 8 feet, and the 3000 pound hydraulic cylinder operates smoothly, quietly, and easily. is caster mounted for mobility and can be moved sideways as well as forward and backward. When movement must be prevented, the crane can be locked in place by means of an anchor screw brake.

Heavy-Duty Hammer
Skil Corporation has announced a new compact, heavy-duty hammer-drill for making 3/16 in. t 7/8 in. holes in masonry designed for rugged professional use, according to the manufacturer.
Model 624 hammer-drill features compact design and a convenient lever to switch from hammer-drilling to conventional drik ingeven when the tool is in use. A complete line of high-quali carbide bits in sizes 3/16 in. 7/8 in. with hardened steel bodies has been specifically designed fe the new hammer-drill. A wie selection of carbide tipped masonry bits is also available in siz 3/16 in. to 3/4 in.
The tool's short front-to-ba distance (7 in. with detachab rear handled removed) makes it easily usable between 16 in, j and in other tight areas, Skil says. The hammer-drill delivers 2 600 blows-per-minute at 1200 гри and has a Skil built 5 amp. Super Burnout Protected motor that dip-coated in polyester resin f protection from high temperatu and overloads. Ball and roll bearing construction, aluminu housings and long-lift brushes other features.
Skil model 624 hammer-dr (10 3/4 pounds) is priced at $109.50. Model 627 hammer-d kit, with 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1 in. percussion carbide bits a steel carrying case is $124.50. Both models will be available from tributors early in 1965. For m information write: Skil Corporation, 5033 Elston Avenue, C cago, Illinois 60630.
