Salamander
Scheu Products Company of Upland, California, heater manufacturers since 1911, are now marketing a low cost, portable oil-burning Junior Salamander Model. The HY-LO Junior Salamander is similar to the popular HY-LO Salamander, except it is nine inches shorter and is equipped with an extra large diffusion hood. It produces 70,000 to 140,000 BTU's per hour using 1/2 to 1 gallon of fuel oil.

According to the manufacturer, the large diffusion hood increases heat distribution and provides additional protection for anything overhead. It is reported to be ideally suited for areas of low clearances under shoring, or for inside plastic masonry shelters, etc. The HY-LO Junior Salamander is available in all principal cities for approximately $25.00. They burn kerosene, stove or diesel fuel. For literature or complete information, write Scheu Products Co., 297 Stowell Street, Upland, California.

New Pump Line
Douglas Motors Corporation, a Milwaukee firm and manufacturer of the Western Line of Construction Machinery, has announced the addition of a complete line of pumps to its Western Equipment Division as a result of the recent acquisitions of Rice Pump of Belgium, Wisconsin and Worthington's Contractors Pump Line of East Orange, New Jersey.

A wide range of sizes and power options are being offered in all popular type pumps. These include: Light Weight and Heavy Duty Centrifugal Pumps, Light Weight and Heavy Duty Diaphragm Pumps, Trash Pumps, Submersible Pumps.

For further information and literature, write: Western Equipment Division, Douglas Motors Corporation, 1234 North 62nd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53213.

New Mortar Mixers
A new line of three heavy-duty models of plaster and mortar mixers was announced today by John L. Spencer, vice president and general manager of the newly formed Construction Equipment Division of Stone Conveyor Co., Honeoye, N. Y. The company plans to introduce a complete line of contractors' equipment in 1964 and 1965.

Among the features of the new mixers are clean-sweep rubber blades as standard equipment. The all-welded paddle assemblies are designed for end-to-end, cutting action mixing, thus providing a smooth and lump-free mix.

A packless triple shaft seal is another exclusive feature. Placed ahead of the main bearing at each end of the mixer shaft, the seal precludes the possibility of grit or any other contaminant reaching the lifetime-lubricated ball bearing.

Other features include: A low charging height and a high discharge height, quick-lock extendible tow pole for pintle and eye towing, abrasive resistant long wear welded steel mixing drum, sturdy electronically-welded safety guard, and a detachable dump handle and positive guard lift system. Capacities available are 3, 512, and 6-8 cu. ft.

Portable Saw
OMARK Industries, Inc. has combined portability and ease of operation in a new masonry saw which is now being offered in all major U.S. market areas through the company's network of factory branch offices.

The new saw, the OMARK Model OM-100, weighs only 150 pounds, and is so compact that it can be easily transported in the trunk of a car and operated from the tailgate of a station wagon or truck bed.

Its high level of portability is matched by its simplicity of operation and ease of maintenance. Based on a totally new design concept, the OM-100 features fingertip control in place of conventional foot pedals for easy and consistently accurate operation. Another significant innovation is the use of a stationary cutting table rather than a moving conveyor cart to reduce operator fatigue and eliminate conveyor cart maintenance.

Although compact and lightweight, the OM-100 is a husky saw engineered to handle standard masonry cutting applications. Powered by a totally enclosed, fan cooled, motor equipped with thermal overload protection, it has a 14 in. blade capacity and can make cuts up to 5 in. in depth at a single pass.

Besides the OM-100, OMARK offers five other models of standard and heavy duty masonry saws plus a full line of diamond and abrasive blades.

Other specialty construction products manufactured by the Portland, Oregon firm include powder actuated tools and accessories, concrete and masonry expansion anchors, carbide bits, core drills and diamond bits, concrete saws and blades and stud welding equipment.

Diamond Blades
A complete line of diamond saw blades for concrete and masonry has been announced by E. J. Longyear Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

These blades feature a patented design which provides 4 to 5 times the usual bonding surface between cutting segments and core. According to the manufacturer, this assures that the segments will stay firmly in place.

Longyear concrete and masonry diamond saw blades can be used with all standard concrete and masonry saws.

Additional information may be obtained from Longyear diamond drill distributors or by writing to E. J. Longyear Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55402.
