Guard-Light
The Robert G. Evans Company, Kansas City, Missouri, have announced a new visual protection device which will be incorporated in all 1965 Model TARGET Roll-O-Matic, and Thrifty Masonry Saws, and in the popular line of PORT-A-SAWS.
GUARD-LIGHT is a bright red light built into the Electric Motor to flash an instant warning. Whenever the Motor is Overloaded the light warns to lessen cutting pressure. When the Motor is Overheated the light warns to guard against burn-out.
For the first time in Masonry history, the Operator has a way to compensate for voltage conditions and protection against costly burn-outs.
In addition to the "Guard-Light" all TARGET Masonry Saw Motors will be constructed with Atomic Age "Mylar Insulation" which permits a Motor to operate under much more severe conditions without damage, and has made possible a new year guarantee".

"Twister" Hod Buggy
The Lull Engineering Co., Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota, recently introduced a new improved mortar handling tank for use by mason contractors, which the company calls the "Twister" Hod Buggy. The tank of this new Lull mortar buggy has a large 7 c. ft. capacity, but it is narrower and longer in design to make it sater and easier to use on scaffolds, taking up less room than other similar equipment. The narrower tank design also reduces spillage problems and its narrowness makes it possible for two Hod Buggies to be elevated at a time using a Lull High Lift Loader equipped with standard 42 in. long pallet forks, or longer cubing forks.

Portable Saw
Omark Industries, Inc., Portland, Oregon has announced the introduction of a new Portable concrete saw, so compact it will fit in a standard automobile trunk.
Called the Model OC-80, the rugedly built saw offers an 8.3 HP Wisconsin engine, 14 in. blade capacity with 4 in cutting depth, positive locking depth control and a Fulflow water applicator for longer blade life.
Other features include self aligning ball bearings on head pivot shaft to assure accurate straight line cutting, 3 belt drive to eliminate slippage and insure full power delivery to blade, and easily accessible operator controls.
"This new model meets the needs of the home builder or smaller contractor who has no call for the big horsepower conventional concrete saw, explains Harry R. Lange, Omark diamond products manager. Power Tampers
Several outstanding operating features are to be found on the new portable Power Tampers designed and now being manufactured for immediate delivery by the Construction Equipment Division of Stone Conveyor Company, Honeoye, New York 14471.
The Model VT 18 with an 18 in tampering plate delivers 2800 3300 lb. impacts per minute; the Model VT 24 with 24 in. tamping plate delivers 2800 5250 lb. impacts per minute. Despite this increased power, Stone's new Power Tamper is easy on the operator, as the vibration-resist ant operating handle has a trip shock mount.
Lifting handles are convenient placed for moving the tampers and off trucks and an eye attached to the engine housing permits lifting by hook or bar. Roller bearings are spherical for greater capacity of eccentric system. High strength V-belt and shives eliminate need for timing-type belts.

Du-All Panel Co. of 65 Crecent Ave. No, St. Paul, Minn. geniously devised a brick sample board molded from Dylite expandable polystyrene. Molded by T. O. Plastics, Inc., of Minneapolis, Minn, the unit is designed to allow the brick slabs to be removed or changed easily between the simulated mortar joints giving the panel versatility.
The panel and joints are molded in one unit sized 15 in. x 26 in. and have 17 cavities for 1/2 thick brick samples.
The units are priced considerably less than the old type display panels.
