MILWAUKEE ALL-WEATHER CONFERENCE
The prime purpose of the conference was not to provide solutions to all the problems involved in All-Weather Construction, but rather to point up problems in all areas that do exist, so that the contractor may seek the best solution.
Representatives at the All-Weather Conference listen oftenatively to one of the discussions.
The Meeting Committee was chairmaned by Harry Piotrowski with Bill Dentinger his Co-Chairman. Members of the group were Alen Knuth and Jack Serdaly. Many of the papers presented at the Conference will be featured in future issues of Masonry.
CANTON RECEIVES A.Ι.Α. AWARD
WASHINGTON, D.C. The dramatic change in the central district of Canton, Ohio, which transformed blighted public square into a vital center of activity, won for the city of Canton a "Citation for Excellence in Community Architecture" awarded by The American Institute of Architects.
Canton's Central Plaza is the winning nominee of the AIA's Ohio region, which selected it as a rare example of a central plaza designed for people in the heart of a automobile-filled city. It is the first phase of an ambitious revitalization program for downtown Canton.
A national citation will be awarded on October 15 to the citizens of Canton and to the mayor Stanley A. Cmich by Charles J. Marr FAIA, director of the AIA's Ohio region, during the regional convention of the Architect Society of Ohio at Atwood Lodge, Dellroy, Ohio.
475 YEARS OF SERVICE
Current Chicago employees of W. R. Grace & Co Zonolite Division who have received service pin awards represent a total of 475 years service to the firm.
Twenty-year pins were presented to Robert C. Held and W. H. R. Smith. Recognition for fifteen-years service were to Thomas D. Herbert, W. W. Spangler, and A. E. Wise. Forrest E. Powell and Harry M. Dixon received ten-year pins. And five-year pins were presented to Ronald F Bazan, William E. Berresheim, Jose Flores, Martin Malte Dr. M. E. Parker, and Edward Stark.
