John Hancock Callender has been engaged in private architectural practice since 1945. His work is primarily in the custom residence field, although it has also included commercial work and housing projects. Callender has been involved in many consulting and research projects, including arctic shelters, veteran's and low-cost housing, and school construction costs. Professor of architecture at Pratt Institute, where he teaches design and construction, Callender has authored many articles in professional and popular magazines.
