Hold D. C. Apprentice Contest

Winner of the 1967 Washington, D.C. Bricklayer Apprentice Contest was Joey Kitts, Hyattsville, Md., an employee of S. & S. Masonry Company. Other winners were Ronnie Cain, Mark Masonry Co., and Phillip Jordan, Williams & Griffin Co.

The competition was sponsored jointly by the Masonry Contractors Association of Washington, D.C. and Local No. 1, Washington, D.C. Jack Cox of Pick Masonry Company handled the various arrangements for the event which was held at the West Brothers Brick Company.

Judges were Jim Clark, Dave Stenhouse and Sidney Lineker. R. C. Doyle, President of the MCA of Washington, and Tom Daly, President of Local No. 1, made the presentations to the winners of the various awards and extended thanks to all who helped make the affair the success that it was.

Joey Kitts, center, is the winner if the Washington, D.C. '67 Bricklayer Apprentice Contest held on May 20th. Left is Ronnie Cain, second place with Phillip Jordan, third place, on the right. The contest was held at West Bros. Brick Co. in that city.
