The elegant new home of the First Federal Savings & Lean Association contrasts sharply with the 60 year old landmark, Salem, Oregon's City Hall. Both structures of masonry are highlighted by their red brick and smooth flowing arches.

Arches and the corbelled parapet attract the attention of the passer-by. The amber rose brick set against the dull bronze anodized aluminum spandrels, windows and doors set a distinctive and graceful atmosphere for the structure.

The variety of expression in the brick wall was created by hand blending four shades of brick to produce the 80,000 standard brick of rose amber.

To accommodate the prompt and efficient business community as well as the senior citizens, seven drive-in windows for fast, convenient transactions are included in the building.

A central skylight over the teller area will provide light in those areas shaded by the arched arcade. The arcade is a building plus, for it not only serves as a shelter during inclement weather but serves as an excellent sun shade during the summer.
