Herman L. May Co. Uses MORGEN Scaffolding
to Speed up $2-Million Masonry Job in Texas
Plagued by unusually rainy weather, Herman L. May Co., Pasadena, Texas, really appreciates the increased production that Morgen Adjustable Scaffolding gets from his masons. It is speeding up a $2,200,000 masonry contract on a gigantic dormitory-academic complex at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
Raymond and Charles Twomey, job superintendents, report that they are getting 10,000 to 12,000 units production per day from 8 masons and a foreman, despite interruptions at every floor level for stonework.
May is using a fork lift to place pallets of brick directly on the materials platform until the scaffolding is raised above 40 feet in height. Then an elevator is used to elevate pallets.
On buildings from 20 feet to over 100 feet high, contractors are finding they increase masons' production from 10% to 20% and more by using Morgen Adjustable Scaffolding.
