Meet Your Vice President
Allen Young, newly elected Vice President of the Mason Contractors Association of America has served the Association as State Chairman and for the past four years has been the Association's Membership Chairman. During 1966-1968 he was the president of the Mason Contractors Association of Memphis, Tennessee.
Mr. Young started in the masonry industry as a bricklayer apprentice in May, 1936, and received his journeyman's card in May, 1940. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.
After returning from the service Mr. Young was a superintendent of masonry projects in the Memphis area, and in 1955, with his brother, Rivers Young, started their own masonry firm, Young Bros. Masonry Contractors, Inc. The Young Bros. firm has won many awards for their outstanding masonry work in the Memphis, Tennessee area and last year received first place for masonry execution in honor of their work on the Christian Brothers College dormitory.
Allen married his wife, Louise, in 1937 and they are the parents of one boy and one girl. Their son, Raymond, works in a supervisory capacity for the Young Bros. firm.
