Thermal Burning Bar
The Thermal Burning Bar, capable of cutting, burning or melting reinforced concrete, rock, cast iron, steel, zinc, aluminum and most all other materials as easily as cutting butter, is announced by Burning Bar, Studio City, California. Capable of performing the heretofore "impossible jobs, as well as the conventional, the unit is ideal for applications requiring low noise level, freehand hole burning, trenching in concrete, demolition, etc. Fumes are non-toxic. It operates at high speed with no vibration, dust or noise, above or under water. It is lightweight, portable and simple to operate by one man; initial and operating costs are extremely low. The only equipment required to operate the world-wide patented Burning Bar is oxygen, hose and fittings, nonflammable suit, face protector and a specially-designed Bar holder. Floor Seal System
A two-page, four color data sheet on "Tuf-Thane (c)", a clear polyurethane floor seal system that tolerates residual dampness and many contaminants, is available from The Tremco Manufacturing Company, Cleveland and Toronto. The literature shows several floors that have been treated with the new system and describes laboratory tests made at the Tremco Research Center to prove the adhesion qualities of Tuf-Thane over competitive polyurethanes. General application directions are given as are coverage estimates. Copies of the data sheet (U-7161) may be obtained by writing The Tremco Manufacturing Company, 10701 Shaker Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44104.

Teflon Coated Blades
A new line of Teflon coated power saw blades is now being marketed by Skil Corporation, Chicago based power tool manufacturer. The Skil power saw blades have been treated with a new kind of Teflon-DuPonts Teflon-S-a heavy duty finish which is self lubricating and non-sticking.

The new blades reduce friction substantially, making possible faster sawing and smoother straighter cutting. The result is an increase in the effective cutting life of the blade. The Teflon coating also inhibits rust and prevents the build up of sap or other gummy deposits, minimizing blade clean-up.

The blades were designed primarily for professionals and the home craftsmen who place heavy demands on their saws. The reduced friction and elimination of binding permits higher RPM speeds that improve cut quality in a wide range of materials.

Unlike the conventional Teflon used in household utensils and other applications, this new Teflon-S contains a group of ingredients that form an industrial-hard coating designed to withstand heavy punishment while retaining the friction reducing characteristics of the older Teflon. The coating is baked into the entire saw blade surface, and not only lasts for the life of the blade, but the finish actually becomes harder and more slippery with use.

Telescoping Crane
TIGHT QUARTERS With very little maneuvering room, Dixie Stone Co., Mt. Airy, N. C., put its Lorain MC-25H, 25-ton hydraulic, telescoping crane, into action lifting pre-cast stone panels. One major obstacle met and overcome by the Lorain was the overhang on the building. With its telescoping boom, the Lorain was able to place the panels with no problems.
