Results Management In Action, by Burt K. Scanlan, $7.95, 212 pages. Published by Management Center of Cambridge, 87 Terrace Hall Ave., Burlington, Massachusetts 01803.
This is a new, revised and enlarged edition of Results Management In Action. The first edition, published in 1967, received many favorable comments from book reviewers and readers all over America, and sold out in less than a year.
Those who bought the original edition and read it know that it is definitely not a book of theory. It is a practical, down to earth, easy to assimilate, "How To" approach to effective leadership and then some. In it's expanded and enlarged version, Dr. Scanlan provides a number of new insights and practical examples which enable the reader to make an immediate and direct application of the management system which is founded firmly upon an understanding of employee motivation to work. Plus, a new chapter on DELEGATION, a positive approach to management, has been added. In this new section, the author discusses four of the more important reasons for delegating, and creates a degree of sensitivity on part of the reader to the importance of this leadership technique. Dr. Scalan goes on to describe the true meaning of managerial delegation by showing historically that the process of delegation has proven to be one of the most elusive concepts of management.
The book emphasizes the principles, concepts, and practices which every manager has within his power to implement and how all three facets of leadership can be applied on a practical basis.

In the past decade, no new materials of the concrete construction industry have captured as much interest as have the epoxy-resin compounds. These compounds combine rapid curing, good adhesion, toughness, good strength properties, and superior chemical resistance to most acids, alkalis, (Continued on page 21) masonry • April, 1969
