Mobile Gunning Rig
A new, highly-mobile gunning rig that is easily trailered behind a truck at normal highway speeds has been introduced by Pistorius Machine Company. Specifically designed to fit the Allentown #N-2 Pneumatic Gun, the design of this rig is claimed to be reliable, economical and easy to operate and maintain.
Highway features include: combination turn signals; over-the-road tail and stop lights, and electric brakes. Overall length is 15'; width, 6' 10", and height, 10 8". Weight before mounting the gun is 3600 Ibs.

New IHC Fork Lifts
International Harvester Company featured its all-new International 7000 Series Fork Lift with a 2114-foot mast in its exhibit space at the recent MCAA Annual Convention in Chicago. The unit is expected to be a rugged workhorse for many mason contractors.
The integral, self-propelled unit, available with Hydra-Shuttle and Torque Converter, is one of a line of four new model tractor fork lifts announced by IH in the 7000 series. Lift has 43.5 hp gas or diesel engine and comes in 4000 or 5000 lb. capacity units. Lift heights on four models range from 14 to 28 ft.
The Company also has five models of fork lifts in its 8000 series, and three models in its 4000 series. Available with hydrostatic steering, the five models in the 8000 series have 63 hp gas and 65 hp diesel engines, and come in 4000, 5000 and 6000 lb. capacity units. Lift heights range to 28 ft. Three models in the 4000 series have automotive-type steering with hydrostatic control. These have 47 hp gas engines and come in 4000 lb. capacity units. Lift heights range from 10½ to 21½ ft.
These fork lifts are especially designed for use on construction sites and other locations where unfavorable weather or terrain prohibit conventional fork lift operations. The 7000 Series unit on display at the exhibit will simulate a construction site with the tractor fork lift shown hefting a full pallet of bricks at full height.
The Company also will show an International 127 Cub Cadet equipped with a Cozy Cab and a Jenkins broom. Hooked to this unit will be an International No. 2 trailer. In addition, the Company also will show an International Cadet 60 Riding Mower with front bumper.
Trowel-on Epoxy System
Polytex, the latest innovation from Polymer Plastics Division, is the name given to a 2-component trowel-on catalyzed epoxy plastic system which forms a 3-dimensional effect on the outside or inside surface of a wall when used with stone, marble and other aggregates.
The stone and marble chips are only partially embedded in the matrix, thereby achieving a textured effect in a range of epoxy and chip colors that allows complete freedom of design. The final product is unusually strong, resists water, rain, sunlight, freeze-heat cycles and "exposure."
An important feature of the material is its inherent light weight, only ⅛th the same volume of concrete. Thus, Polytex can be pre-cast in panels for quick application as well as applied on the project, yet provide a final surface 5 times stronger than concrete. Cure time is less than 24 hours.

Lathem Time Recorder
The Lathem Time Recorder Co. has developed a DC/AC Inverter that enables a time recorder to be operated from a standard low voltage battery with time accuracy held to no more than one minute variation per week.
The Inverter is a fused, solid state unit that will invert 11-14 V.D.C. to 60 cycle regulated high voltage current. It draws just 625 milliamperes. Therefore, a fully charged 80 ampere battery would run six days before a recharge is required.
Such a remote installation is of particular interest to a firm who wants the accuracy of recorded payroll time on employees who report to work locations where regulated electrical current is irregular or non-existant. Such time clock installations are also valuable for recording on-site job time records,
Pictured here is a Lathem 2100 Series Time Recorder mounted on a truck panal. No modification to a standard machine is required. It plugs directly into the Inverter which is receiving power from the battery. The amount of battery charge has no effect on the accuracy of the time clock.
The sixth of a series of research reports on structural lightweight aggregate concrete has been published by the Portland Cernent Association.
Latex Block Filler
Glyptal Latex Block Filler-Glyptal Epoxy Enamel Tint Base, Bulletin IMF-133, four pages, describes a two-step system that provides an attractive, protective, tile-like finish for all concrete and cinder block surfaces. The finish is resistant to moisture, heat and chemical impurities, is easily applied with brush, roller or spray gun, and leaves an easy-to-clean, virtually maintenance-free surface. Glyptal Latex Block Filler CE 871 is used as a filler for both interior and exterior concrete or cinderblock surfaces. After applying the Block Filler, Glyptal Epoxy Enamel Tint Base 86701 is used as a single package pastel tint base. The Tint Base may be mixed with GE universal colorants to derive 450 colors.
