Cambridge Gripper Slings

Loading hollow core concrete slabs for shipment without damaging their finished surface can pose a problem, especially when the slabs weigh 3 tons each and measure 14 feet in length. At Spancrete Ltd., a producer of building materials in Quebec, both the efficient handling of the slabs and damage-free transfer were achieved with the use of Gripper Slings from Cambridge Wire Cloth Co.

Two slings, 6" wide and 144" long, were used to lift two of the huge slabs from the bed. Constructed of carbon steel, and coated with neoprene, the slings provide a safe rigging which has been fully pre-tested for load capacity. Their steel construction eliminates the safety hazards and wear characteristics encountered with the use of cloth and rope slings, and their neoprene coating provides ample protection for the smooth-surfaced material.
