The Number One New York Plaza Fire

The Number One New York Plaza fire on August 5, 1970, was underway for five hours before it was brought under control. In those five hours, two lives were lost, thirty men were injured, and almost ten million dollars in damage was caused.

Photograph on the thirty-third floor showing the destruction caused by the fire. It is reported that temperatures of about 1500 degrees were reached, which even melted the bases of typist chairs.
