'72 MCAA Convention

Colorful cotton dresses, often with matching cardigans or light jackets, are equally popular for daytime and informal evenings. For cocktail parties and nightclubbing, it's the "bare and the bouffant," with cocktail dresses, short formals and dressy cottons predominating in cool pastels and floral prints. Hats and gloves are fashionable for group luncheons.
Men's sports wear has become "emancipated" in recent years, and nowhere is there to be found a more sparkling, imaginative selection than in Miami Beach. Favorite attire for the beach are cabana sets walking shorts with matching shirt. In the evening, dark suits, white shirts and ties are always acceptable. On more formal occasions, dark or white dinner jackets are in order although not required, but a tie is uniform after 6 p.m. The only hat you need to bring is your golf cap!
Many guests, however, rather than troubling to pack and carry heavy suitcases, arrive with a minimum wardrobe and buy what they need in Miami Beach. Since the area is nationally recognized as a style center, they can stock up on the latest in fashions which have yet to hit their peak style-wise in northern cities, and set the style pace when they return home.
