Meet Your New Regional Vice Presidents
# GUY APPLE
Vice President, Region E
After serving two consecutive terms as Secretary of MCAA, Guy this year assumes the post of Regional Vice President for the southwestern states, with headquarters in Phoenix, his business base of operations.
He is President of Guy Apple Masonry Contractor, Inc., the firm he started in 1947 at the age of twenty. His operation now extends throughout Arizona (including a branch in Tucson), New Mexico, Nevada and California. He also is engaged in other business activities as President of Mesa Precast Co., Inc., President of D & G Building Materials Co., Inc., and Vice President of Tri Delta Building Materials Co., Inc.
He also is President of the Arizona Masonry Association in addition to being active in the Arizona Bricklayers Health and Welfare Plan, the Arizona Promotional Trust Fund, and the Arizona Bricklayers Pension Fund. He has served MCAA as State Chairman and as Chairman of a number of important committees.
A native of Missouri, Guy, his wife Mary Lou, and their six children reside in Mesa.
# G. W. VEAZEY, JR.
Vice President, Region D
G.W. is President of Veazey Corporation, a masonry contracting firm well-known for its quality workmanship in the Houston area. He also is active in the banking industry and serves as a director of two banks.
After completing a hitch in the Naval Air Corps, G.W. became an apprentice bricklayer in 1948. He formed his own company in 1964 after serving several years as a field superintendent for a general contractor.
He has held the posts of President, Vice President and Secretary of the MCAA Houston Chapter and been a member of several MCAA committees. This year he was named Outstanding Committee Chairman for his work as MCAA Convention Chairman.
He belongs to the A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, and is a member of the Optimist Club. He enjoys all sports, including boating, water skiing and golf. He also played semi-pro basketball for eight years.
G.W. and his wife Peggy were married in 1950 and have two sons, Gerry and David.
# KENNETH W. PARKER
Vice President, Region F
Ken serves as President of Ken Parker, Inc., of Portland, Oregon. He started in business in 1948 as a general contractor, but after several years decided that masonry provided the greatest opportunity and challenge, and he subsequently formed his own organization.
Ken is Past-President of the Mason Contractors of Portland as well as of the Oregon Masonry Guild, and has served on various local masonry committees.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he spends his leisure time flying airplanes and fishing for the elusive trout in the streams of the Pacific Northwest.
Ken and his wife Clara have been married 21 years. They are the parents of a son, Gary, who is an apprentice bricklayer, and a daughter, Leslie, who attends high school.
