Meet Your Treasurer
Stepping in for his second term as Treasurer of MCAA is Robert Harrison, who serves as President of G. & R. Masonry, Inc., Wheeling, III. His firm, established some 19 years ago, specializes in both residential and institutional masonry projects throughout the Chicagoland area. Bob joined the masonry industry in 1950.
Long active in MCAA affairs as well as those of the Mason Contractors Association of Greater Chicago, Bob has held a number of important posts with both organizations during recent years. With MCAA he has been Treasurer, Regional Vice President, State Chairman and Chairman of the Education Committee. He has since been re-named Education Committee Chairman for 1972 and also serves as Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee.
During his initial three-year tenure as Education Committee Chairman, he saw the enrollment in MCAA's Masonry Estimating Course climb to a record high of 1,100. With MCA of Greater Chicago, Bob is immediate Past-Treasurer and immediate Past-Chairman of the Finance Committee and served on the Board of Directors. He presently is a member of that group's Finance Committee.
Bob attended the University of Illinois and was an Air Force pilot during World War II, flying B-24's, B-25's and B-29's. He presently is pursuing flying as a hobby in addition to fishing and golf.
Bob and his wife Beverly are approaching their 24th year of marriage and are the parents of six children ranging in age from 21 to 9 Robert, Joyce, Craig, Carrie, Reid and John. Robert is a chemical engineering student at Illinois Institute of Technology; Joyce attends Harper College. The Harrisons reside in Mt. Prospect, III.
