Meet Your Vice President
An articulate speaker as well as an acknowledged leader in the Masonry Industry, Charles Velardo moves up to the Vice Presidency of MCAA with excellent credentials for this office.
He is one of the founders and served as President of the Mason Contractors Association of Massachusetts for six years. He presently is chairman of the MCAA Legislative Committee, is active on the Masonry Industry All-Weather Council, and up until assuming his Vice Presidential post had been MCAA Vice President for Region A and State Chairman of Massachusetts.
On the business side he serves in the three-hat capacities of Vice President, Treasurer and General Manager of G. Salvucci and Company, Inc., headquartered in the Boston Suburb of Newton Highlands. His firm specializes in major masonry projects throughout the New England area. Charley joined the company in 1951 after having been a government engineer with the Public Housing Administration. He became a bricklayer in 1936.
Mr. Velardo attended Boston College and Northeastern University, and served with the Navy Department during World War II. He holds membership in one of the nation's most unique and prestigious organizations the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company in Massachusetts, the oldest (since 1638) military order in the Western Hemisphere.
An avid sportsman and devoted family man, Charley says he most enjoys hunting, fishing and golf among sports activities. He and his wife Anne have three daughters, Anne, Priscilla and Valerie, and two grandsons, Anthony and Charles Pagliazzo.
