In France factories turn out a panel per man per day, a South African system produces panels from which a house can be constructed in six hours, and in the U.S. an eight-room school addition was recently completed in less than twelve hours. In each case the panels were brick or block.

New panel systems are rapidly becoming a boon to an industry previously hampered by a skilled manpower shortage. According to the book, the new panels which are constructed by bricklayers or by machine either on site or in factories, have the advantages of rapid installation, low cost and increased productivity per man hour.
