Masonry Showcase in Troy, Michigan

Crisp angles and expansive treatment of brick in the walls and floors of the Burton Abstract & Title Company headquarters in Troy, Mich., make this a showcase for masonry construction. An Iron Spot brick was chosen for the exterior because of its unique character to reflect both coolness and warmth. The winner of an honor award from the Detroit chapter of the Michigan Society of Architects, the building was designed by Rossen/Neumann Associates, with masonry by Cyril C. O'Neill (MCAA). The story about this project was featured in the August, 1974 issue of "Masonry." (Photography by Balthazar Korab.)

IH Creates New "Pay Line" Division

Industrial and construction equipment marketing were merged into a new division of International Harvester called "Pay Line" in ceremonies at Lake Geneva, Wis., on September 11. According to Ben H. Warren, IH group vice president, the new division is the result of a merger of the entire International line of construction and industrial equipment into one marketing organization under a single divisional structure. Here, in a symbolic gesture, J. P. Kaine (right), president of IH's agricultural/industrial equipment division, hands over the reins of industrial equipment marketing to J. C. Laegeler (left), president of the Pay Line Division, and J. L Adams, marketing vice president.
