The major labor developments of 1973 are recorded in the latest volume of "Labor Relations Yearbook," the ninth in this BNA series. An innovation in this volume is the inclusion of selected analyses of significant decisions handed down by the National Labor Relations Board and the courts during 1973.
The Yearbook provides a chronology of major events, a record of major contract settlements in 1973, the 1974 schedule of collective bargaining, reports on health outlays, private uninsured pension funds, retirees' income, employment and strike data, and a wide range of articles on labor relations conferences and studies.

A new format and a new price for the second printing of SP-17 (73) "Ultimate Strength Design Handbook" have been announced by the American Concrete Institute.
The format now available is a sturdy 8½ x 11 looseleaf binder with seven heavy-duty rings and an extra-strength vinyl cover. The rings have been attached to the rear cover of the binder enabling the handbook to be opened flat on the design table for smooth page flow. The rings may be opened, allowing the designer to rearrange pages. The book is divided into three sections:
• Design Examples, showing specific applications of ultimate strength design.
• Design Aids, consisting of tables, graphs and drawings which simplify shear, reinforcement, flexure, deflection and other calculations.
• Commentary, which presents the assumptions, equations, derivations, and explanations for all the design aids.

Boss Enclosure System Acquired by Waco
Waco Scaffold & Shoring Co., Schiller Park. III., has announced acquisition of the Boss Weather Enclosure System, an addition that allows the multi-product company to offer a patented movable system for steel structures.
The new system hangs on the side of the building, moving up or down on cables with winches located on floors approximately 50 feet above the enclosure. The total system includes lightweight aluminum pipe, connectors, covering and miscellaneous parts that make it movable. Among its advantages are portability, environmental control, economical enclosing cost, versatility and overall economy.
Waco's other products are steel scaffolding and standard and hi-load shoring.
