Weather Protection

Increases Masons'

Production 67%

"Productivity is 67 percent higher at 75° than at 40° at a constant relative humidity of 60 percent." Mason Productivity Study, Vol. IV. Franklin B. Johnson, University of Texas at Austin under contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Jan. 1974.

Protection Bracket on

Works Three Ways --

# OVERHEAD PROTECTION
The T-shaped accessory is supported by the platform carriage and is raised as the carriage is being winched up to keep the masons at ideal working level.

When overhead protection is required, the bracket is easily planked at ground level. The protective roof is elevated as part of the adjustable work platform with no additional labor.

# WINTER WORK ENCLOSURE
When the weather requires an enclosure, the brackets support a simple enclosure of canvas or polyethylene panels or drapes.

Because the working platform is elevated as the wall is built, a single relatively-small enclosure is used for the entire height of the wall, making winter enclosures economically feasible on most any any job.

With the work area enclosed and heated, a mason can produce up to 67% more than when he is fighting the cold and wind, according to studies sponsored by HUD.

The enclosed area can be as comfortable as working in a factory. The greenhouse effect of sunlight through the polyethylene often provides enough heat. Space heaters can be used if additional warmth is needed.

# SUNSHADE
In some parts of the country, heat is as much of a problem as cold. John H. Barajas Masonry, Palm Springs, Calif., utilized Morgen's protection bracket to build a simple sunshade of plywood. Barajas says, "We did all the stuff you couldn't do with conventional scaffolding. With Morgen, we set up all the goodies that we always wished we had, and it was good for the duration of the wall."
