# Article 1
The European Commission is committed to protecting your personal data. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 applies to the processing of personal data carried out by the European institutions, bodies, offices and agencies. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation) applies to processing carried out by controllers in the EU Member States.

All personal data collected by our Directorate-General is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.

The processing operations are under the responsibility of the Head of Unit ARES.DD1.

Data is processed for the following purpose: To allow the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space to contact registered participants in the context of the organisation of events.

The following personal data is collected: First name, last name, email address, organisation, country.

The legal basis for the processing operation is Article 5(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Union institution or body.

The following recipients have access to your personal data: Staff of the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space.

The data will be stored for a maximum period of 1 year after the event.

You have the right to access your personal data and to rectify it if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You have the right to erase your personal data, to restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability.

You can exercise your rights by contacting the data controller, using the contact information provided below. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the European Data Protection Supervisor if you consider that your rights have been infringed as a result of the processing of your personal data.
