General Portland 2nd Quarter Earnings Up

General Portland, Inc., Dallas. Texas, has announced that earnings for the second quarter were the second highest quarterly earnings in the company's history. For the quarter, the company reported earnings of $3.9 million on sales of $47.0 million, or 90% higher than for the same period a year ago.

General Portland is the nation's second largest cement manufacturer with eight plants in six states.
