Architectural Design Awards

The new University of Detroit Law School Library the North Hills Christian Reformed Church in Troy, the Great American Insurance Co. office building in Birmingham and Gordon Hall at Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills these are the winners of the 1976 "M Awards" for excellence in masonry design presented by the Masonry Institute of Michigan in cooperation with the Michigan Society of Architects.

The winning projects were announced, and their architects, owners and mason contractors were honored at the second annual Masonry Awards Banquet held in January at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn, Mich.

Of 29 projects entered by Michigan architects in this annual competition, the four winners (pictured here and on the cover) were considered as "outstanding and worthy of honor awards" by three distinguished Philadelphia area architects who served on the awards jury.
