Soil Compactor

Stow/Western Mixer
Stow Manufacturing Co., P.O. Box 490, Binghamton, N.Y. 13902, has gone into production on its model M1250 mortar and plaster mixer featuring the Protect-A-Bearing Seal. The paddle shaft bearings are fully protected from abrasive sand mortar by heavy-duty, double neoprene packed seals. The M1250 has a 12.5 cu. ft. capacity and is available with either a 9 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, a 9.2 hp Wisconsin engine, or an electric motor. For easy moving, the unit has high-speed axle, wheels, tires and bearings for expressway-speed towing.
Edmar Blade Booklet
A new 4-page, full-color illustrated brochure on masonry and concrete cutting reinforced safety abrasive blades is available from Edmar Abrasive Co., P.O. Box 217, Broomall, Pa., 19008. The brochure describes sizes and specifications for masonry and concrete cutting blades, including hot press. There is also information on high-speed blades, power hand saw blades, raised hub and saucer wheels, and rubbing brick.
Emergency Oxygen
What is claimed to be a dependable and easily operated oxygen inhalation system for medical emergencies and accidents is available from Zee Medical Products Co., Inc., 16641 Hale Ave., Irvine, Calif. 92714. The system can contain up to 45 minutes of pure USP oxygen and supplies a constant flow of oxygen at 6 liters per minute. The weatherproof cabinet contains a shock and accident blanket, mask and tubing, emergency phone number label, and explicit instructions for proper operation of the unit.
New Cost Manual
The second edition of the Construction Equipment Cost Manual for Value Value Recovery Rates" is available to all equipment users seeking a businesslike method of recovering allocable equipment costs through the application of use rates. The manual has been prepared by a team of prominent building contractors in cooperation with the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota for application in all areas of construction equipment cost management. Masonry Primer
A new masonry primer with exceptional resistance to alkali has been introduced by Glidden Maintenance Coatings. Called Glid-Guard, the product is a solvent-reduced synthetic rubber-base coating formulated for both interior and exterior masonry surfaces including stucco, tile, brick, plaster, concrete and cement asbestos. The new primer's resistance to alkali is said to make it "ideal for problem areas" and enables it to prevent most alkali reactions that cause paint failures. More information is available from J. J. Infra-red Heaters
A line of portable infra-red heaters is being produced by Solaronics, Inc., 704 Woodward Ave., Rochester, Mich. 48063. Unlike other heat forms, infra-red heat rays travel in straight lines to objects. The rays are unaffected by the temperature or movement of air through which they pass. The three Solaronics heater models can fire between 16,000 and 50,000 btu's. Carts are available for all models, which can be operated in any position from vertical to horizontal.
Power Troweler
Goldblatt Tool Co., 513 Osage, Kansas City, Kans. 66110, has introduced a 36 power troweler designed to provide a professionaly smooth surface on both small and medium size contractor jobs. The troweler is designed for easy maneuverability to eliminate fatigue or strain. The 36" model features a 3, 5 or 7 hp Briggs & Stratton 4-cycle gas engine with recoil, and has either a 3 or 4 blade design. A "dead man's" control lever stops the blade the moment it is released.
Electric Clutch
The "Benson Eliminator" electric clutch for high-pressure cleaning equipment is being produced by Citation Manufacturing Co., Inc., Siloam Springs, Ark. 72761. The company says this new discovery could "revolutionize the cleaning equipment industry by minimizing problems associated with high-pressure bypass, trigger controlled machines." The device allows all components to be in a relaxed state when water flow is interrupted, which is said to extend the life of pumps, coils and discharge hoses. The unit is available only on Citation-manufactured cleaning equipment.
Improved Line Level
A patented line level with drop protection is new from Great Neck Saw Manufacturers, Inc., Mineola, N.Y. 11501. Called the LL2, this specialized level is said to give an accurate reading when no flat surface is available. It has extrusions which attach to a line, preventing the level from dropping when in application. Comparison of heights between any 2 points also can be made with accuracy, it is claimed. The housing is plastic, measures only 3", and weighs ½ oz.
