Decorative Block

A patented process developed over the past 10 years allows architect and builder to specify the layout of a block wall in any combination of color and design. Once the structure goes up, the mural is there. Called TCM (transfer coating method), it is an automated, high-speed plantside operation whereby a composite carrying the design and protected by a weather-resistant polymer is thermally fused to, and interlocked with, the surface of the building unit. Next to a face-lift, TCM is claimed to impart to the block "much improved" structural strength and complete weather resistance. For more information, contact: Surtech, Inc., 2301 S. Oneida, Green Bay, WI 54304.
