Many convention cities are, more often than not, like resolutions made with grand flourishes on New Year's Eve easily and best forgotten. But among convention cities, Dallas is unconventional. It treats visitors in the grand manner because it wants, and expects, them to return.

That is one of the reasons why the "Big D" was chosen for MCAA's 30th International Masonry Conference and Educational Trade Show, scheduled for February 20-27, 1980, when we will be celebrating the Thirtieth Anniversary of the founding of MCAA. Indications are that this will be one of the most memorable Conferences in the Association's long history.

In the beginning, around 1840, Dallas was much like any other frontier settlement in the north central portion of the Republic of Texas. Today, Big D, Dynamic Dallas, the City of the 80s-call it what you will is an industrial/commercial giant boasting more than 1,000 metroplex-based companies with assets of $1 million or more, a total exceeded by only New York and Chicago.
