Person System for Insulating Engineered Masonry Walls
The Person system for insulating reinforced, structural masonry walls is featured in the latest "Energy Update" distributed by the Masonry Institute, San Francisco. The system was developed by Oscar F. Person, president of the mason contracting firm Person-Western, Inc., Burlingame, Calif.
When insulation is needed, the Person system is applicable to a double-wythe reinforced and grouted masonry wall, whether both wythes are brick, both are block, or one is brick and the other is block.
When concrete block is used, the system employs a special 3" x 8" x 16" unit with four core holes.
From an engineering standpoint, this insulated double wythe masonry system creates a 9" or wider grouted, reinforced structural wall and a 3" masonry veneer properly tied to.

Prepare for the Revolution!
ONE MAN. ONE MACHINE. 12 BLOCKS. 14 SECONDS!
Total automation made possible by the revolutionary MASA Record 9001-V makes masonry block manufactured any other way too expensive. Here's why:
High rate of production. The 9001-V cycles every 14 seconds, producing 12 high quality, 8 x 8 x 16 in. blocks per cycle.
Lower manpower costs. Only one man is required to operate the 9001-V. Typically, a complete MASA operation requires a staff of only 5: the plant superintendent, computer console operator, forklift operator, mechanic and maintenance man.
Lower breakage waste. The 9001-V's unique vibration process results in a denser, higher-quality block.
Competitive prices. Heavy-duty construction. Compatible with other equipment.
