Gypsum Product Terms Explained in Glossary
The Gypsum Association has compiled and published a new glossary of construction terms relating to the use of gypsum board products. The glossary is intended to develop a clear, precise and uniform terminology to be made widely available within the construction industry.

Phony Group Tries to Sell OSHA Materials
OSHA is advising midwestern business operators to be suspicious of any person or group which attempts to sell OSHA materials.

According to Ronald McCann, acting OSHA regional administrator for Region V. small business operators throughout the midwest are being approached by various groups which seek to sell them materials from OSHA which employers can get at no charge from the federal safety and health agency.

One group in particular, he said, is telling employers they must pick up a COD package containing information on OSHA. The package costs $29.50.


General Portland Has Record First Quarter
General Portland, Inc., Dallas, Texas, announced that its results for the first quarter of 1980 were the highest of any first quarter in the company's history. Net sales were $66.7 million, up 40 percent from the same quarter last year.

GP chairman James B. Lendrum credited the mild winter and acceleration of activity by builders to minimize the impact of rising interest rates as the chief factors in the sales rise.


Concrete Technology Catalog Offered Free
The 1980 American Concrete Institute Catalog lists more than 200 publications on concrete technology, structural design and concrete construction.

The 32-page catalog lists all ACI standards, codes and specifications. It also lists bibliographies and describes design handbooks, monographs, symposia and special publications.

Norton to Buy Marion
Marion Health & Safety, Inc., Kansas City, Mo., announced it has accepted a letter of intent from the Norton Co. to purchase Marion. The sale is expected to be finalized by July, 1980.
