MASON CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA

February, 1981

Dear Member:

I am extremely proud of this opportunity to welcome you to what is perhaps the largest and most important annual event in the Masonry Industry-MCAA's International Masonry Conference and Educational Trade Show. Your Officers, Staff and I are confident that this year's meeting will be one of the most stimulating and thought-provoking in our Association's history.

A brief story I heard some years ago typifies, for me, the underlying purpose of our Annual Conference. Two association members were discussing what their association meant to them. They soon agreed that it represented an excellent way to keep abreast of industry developments and to exchange ideas.

Their conclusion boiled down to something like this: You have a dollar and I have a dollar. We trade dollars, but no one really is ahead. However, if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange ideas, now you have two ideas and so have I. Our mutual knowledge is that much richer.

With such a thought in mind, this year's Conference and Trade Show provide an excellent opportunity to exchange money-making ideas. The program topics have been selected for their timeliness and basic value to today's progressive mason contractor. The speakers have been chosen for their special skills in their respective fields as well as their ability to communicate with us.

And our Trade Show will give each of us the chance to engage in one-on-one discussions with the exhibitors to learn more about their products and services. There will be many new ideas for everyone to apply to their own businesses.

Further, the Conference schedule allows ample time for relaxation and sightseeing in an area blessed with beautiful natural surroundings. The MCAA Officers and I welcome you to Reno and the MGM Grand. We sincerely hope that your stay here will result in a productive and enjoyable experience.

Sincerely.
