AA Wire Guide

The 16-page booklet illustrates correct reinforcing for all types of masonry wall partitions; single wythe and cavity walls: glass block walls; stone; corners; intersections; faced or veneer masonry walls, and anchorage to steel, wood or masonry. MixorMate System
MixorMate, a self-contained mixing system with fast and gentle monogeneous mixing action, has been introduced by Strong Manufacturing Co., Inc., P.O. Box 8068, Pine Bluff, AR 71611. The unit's contra-blend mixing action provides consistent blends for both dry and wet batches, and has been used to mix almost all varieties of mortar, surface bonding cements, pool base aggregates, grout, plaster and stuccos. The MixorMate is available in various capacities, skid or wheel mounted.
Sturdy Mortar Tub
Mortar mixing is now easier with the new "Husky Tub," claims Dean Kendall Products, Inc., 6660-D Engle Rd., Middleburg Hts, OH 44130. The firm's new product bulletin compares its new polyethylene tub to a standard mixing tub made of steel. Some of the Husky Tub's claimed advantages: single-unit, no-seam construction; light weight for easier maneuverability: simpler cleaning, and 20% more capacity (up to 2 bags of Type M mortar). Three bright colors are available.
Lull Highlander III
The 4,000 lb. capacity, two-wheel drive Highlander III highlift manufactured by Lull Engineering Co., Inc., 3045 Hwy. 13, St. Paul, MN 55121, has a telescoping boom that permits spotting of maximum capacity loads to 35 ft. vertically and 2,500 lb. loads to 17 ft. in front of the machine. Loads can also be placed 3 ft. below grade. Operating features include front-wheel drive with planetary axels; rear-wheel steering, and 4-speed Reverse-O-Matic transmission.
Fireplace Venting
Fireplace Systems, Div. of Roger Sorensen Construction Co., Inc., 883 Front Ave., St. Paul, MN 55103, is marketing what it terms a new concept in venting outside air in masonry fireplaces. Simple in design, the system utilizes an inside control cable to regulate the outside air vent to increase fireplace efficiency. It also has an adjustable inside air grate made of cast aluminum as part of the system.
"Hyster-Care" Plan
"Hyster-Care" is the name selected for a collection of services designed to cater to the material handling equipment user's total needs by Hyster Co., P.O. Box 2902, Portland, OR 97208. Parts and service support, operator training, material handling problem-solving, equipment selection, lift truck rentals, leasing and financing are all part of the new Hyster-Care theme. Scaffold Header
Development of a new scaffold frame header designed to fit most frame systems has been announced by Kwikform America, Inc., 11140 Talbert Ave., Fountain Valley, CA 92708. The system permits the use of "Kwikstage" steel plank instead of wood plank. The company says that its new header and companion steel plank eliminates uneven, overlapping and gapped platforms, and that plank breakage and deflection are virtually eliminated.
Eldorado Stone
Full-color literature graphically portraying its precast building stone products is obtainable on request from Eldorado Stone Corp., P.O. Box 125. Kirkland, WA 98033. Eldorado Stone is a manufactured stone veneer composed of portland cement, iron oxide colors and lightweight aggregates. It is available at a fraction of the cost of natural stone, yet is hard to distinguish from the real thing. Its light weight permits easy installation on virtually any building surface-brick, block, concrete or wood. Pictured is Eldorado "Mountain Stone."
Masonry Protector
Tamms Industries Co., 1222 Ardmore Ave., Itasca, IL 60143, says that its "Tammscoat" non-cementitious, resin-based coating will actually fill the pores in concrete block to give it an attractive, non-gloss, water-repellent finish. The product can also be used on brick, plaster and stucco as a finish coat for Tamms "Concrete Finisher" and "Tamoseal."
