Todd Wolf has been elevated to manager of sales administration of Koehring Company's Construction Equipment Division, Dayton, Ohio.

F. F. Kirchner, Inc., Bridgeton. Mo., has announced the purchase of assets of Meramec Valley Block Co., Valley Park, Mo. Kirchner president Ronald W. Ohmes said the acquisition "indicates our faith in the masonry construction industry in St. Louis." Kirchner manufactures concrete masonry products and is a distributor of clay brick and related items.

Harry Mason Champlin has joined The Stone Center, St. Louis, Mo., fabricator and sales agent for granite, marble and stone products. Champlin will be responsible for sales efforts in continued on page 26

Construction Industry Executives Optimistic
Reporting on the construction industry in a recent issue, Business Week found that industry executives "reflect surprising optimism."

Their bright outlook is based on the belief that Administration policies will "at least keep construction from taking its usual high-money-rate dive this year and could provide a lift during the second half of 1981."

The predicted area of greatest activity in 1981: office construction.

Hyster Opens Plant in Northern Ireland

Hyster Co., a leading manufacturer of lift trucks, has announced the opening of its 15th manufacturing plant, in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. The 285,000 sq. ft. facility is on a 40-acre site at Carn Industrial Estate.

New Technical Director for Unit Masonry Group

Timothy P. Gilday, P.E. has joined the Unit Masonry Association of Greater Cincinnati as technical director, succeeding Jerry E. Isenburg. P.E., associate professor of construction science in the College of Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati.

Gilday holds a civil engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a lifelong resident of the Greater Cincinnati area. He formerly served as an engineer with Frederick Schildhauer Engineers of Cincinnati and with the Hamilton County Engineers Office.

Masonry Restoration Seminar Held in Indiana

The Indianapolis Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute/ American Institute of Architects sponsored a seminar on "Masonry Restoration," April 23, at the Airport Ramada Inn in Indianapolis.

The slate of speakers included Robert Dinsmore, historical architect, Indiana Division of Historic Preservation; Al Isburner, Portland Cement Association; Hugh MacDonald, Brick Institute of America, and Bruce Haines. Robert Haines Co., Inc.
