Silver Medal Award-O'Hare Water Reclamation Plant, Des Plaines, II. The architect was Consoer Morgan, with masonry by Crouch-Walker Corp. and Zielke Masonry, Inc. Jury's comment: "A sensitive job of aesthetics for a public building of industrial nature."
Three design organizations were honored with Honorable Mention Citations: Burnidge, Cassell & Associates, for the First Federal Savings & Loan Association, Elgin, III., and C. Edward Ware & Associates, for St. John Neuman Parish, St. Charles, III. The City of Chicago's Bureau of Architecture received two Honorable Mention Awards for the Southwest Multi-Purpose Center for the Elderly and Handicapped, and the 24th District Police Station in Chicago.
Area mason contractors who worked on the winning projects were similarly honored with awards for excellence in Masonry Design Execution. They were: Gold Medal-Frank Miller's Sons Fireproofing Co. Silver Medals-Garth Construction Co., Inc.; Crouch-Walker Corp., Inc.; Zielke Masonry and Southfield Builders.
Honorable Mention-Rudy Scholl, Mason Contractor, and Driessen Construction Co.
The architectural jury consisted of Erick W. Smith Jr.. FAIA, Smith, Entzeroth. Inc.: Thomas H. Teasdale, FAIA. Kenneth E. Wischmeyer & Partners, and William M. Pisturi, FAIA, Pisturi, Conrad & Gebauer, all of St. Louis.

Misdirected fowl
