Architectural Scholarships Created in Oklahoma

In an effort to promote the masonry industry and support education with grants and fellowships, the Oklahoma Masonry Institute has established a Masonry Advancement Fund in cooperation with Oklahoma State University's Foundation. The Fund will provide a $500 annual scholarship to an OSU student majoring in either architecture or architectural engineering. Shown here discussing arrangements are (from left) Dr. K. A. New Publicist Joins IMI Washington Staff

The International Masonry Institute has brought on board a publicity coordinator, Melissa Maholick, to coordinate the institute's ongoing market promotion programs.

As IMI's newest staff member, Ms. Maholick will spend much of her time developing, writing and placing publicity material about masonry. Her duties will also include writing and editing Masonry News and other publications, and assisting in the coordination of IMI conferences.


Masonry Institute Moves

The Masonry Institute of Washington has moved to expanded quarters in the ADP Building, Suite 209, 925-116th. N.E., Bellevue, WA 98004. The new telephone number is 206/453-8820.


Yahr of Wisconsin Elected NCMA Chairman

Frederick H. Yahr, president of Bend Industries, Inc., West Bend, Wis., and six other Wisconsin building material firms, has been elected chairman of the National Concrete Masonry Association for 1981. He was installed in office during NCMA's recent annual convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In addition to heading Bend Industries, Yahr is president of Yahr's Ready Mix, Inc., West Bend: Fond du Lac Concrete Corp., Andrews Roofing & Siding, and A. A. Distributors, all of Fond du Lac: Waupun Concrete Products Co., Waupun, and Falls Block & Supply Co., Menomonee Falls.

He is a member and past president of the Wisconsin Concrete Products Association, Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association, and Concrete Masonry Industries of Metropolitan Milwaukee.


MCA of Arkansas Moves

The Mason Contractors Association of Arkansas has moved to new offices at 5608 B Patterson Rd., Little Rock, AR 72209.
