MCAA CONFERENCE FACTS
MEETINGS AND SEMINARS
MCAA's Pre-Conference Seminar, consisting of two presentations, will begin on Friday, February 12. "Basic Masonry Estimating," a two-day course, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and conclude at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Both sessions will be in the Ft. Lauderdale Room, 2nd Floor, Convention Center. The other portion of the seminar, "Panelization/Stone and Brick/Fabrication, Erection and Related Details," will be presented on Friday only, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Cocoa and Boca Raton Rooms, 2nd Floor, Convention Center. Important Note: The Pre-Conference Seminar requires special registration and is not part of the regular Conference registration.
MCAA Committee meetings will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 13. Consult the Conference program in this issue for room assignments. The meetings are open to all active MCAA members who are urged to attend and provide their input.
MCAA Regional Vice Presidents' conferences will begin at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, followed by the MCAA Executive Board meeting at 4:00 p.m. The Regional Vice Presidents' conferences are open to all active MCAA members who again are urged to attend. Consult the Conference program in this issue for room assignments.
An Industry Promotion meeting will be conducted Sunday, February 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in St. Cloud Hall, 1st Floor, Convention Center. The meeting will be devoted to discussions of current promotional programs being conducted by the International Masonry Institute (IMI) and the various regional/local masonry promotion groups throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Opening Session of the Conference will convene on Monday morning, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cypress Ballroom, 1st Floor, Convention Center, with President Louis J. Helbert Jr. presiding.
Two Industry Workshops will be presented on Wednesday morning, February 17, beginning at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. in St. Cloud Hall, 1st Floor, Convention Center. The topics will be "Metal Studs-Their Pros and Cons" (8:30 a.m.) and "ERISA-Employment Retirement Income Security Act of 1974" (10:30 a.m.).
MCAA Associate Members will hold their annual meeting on Monday afternoon, February 15, at 4:15 p.m.
The MCAA Executive Board will convene twice-on Saturday, February 13, at 4:00 p.m., and on Thursday, February 18, at 9:00 a.m. in the Cocoa and Boca Raton Rooms, 2nd Floor, Convention Center. At Thursday's meeting, all newly elected officers of the Association will be administered their oaths and officially take office.
ANNUAL MEETING
To be held Wednesday afternoon, February 17, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Cloud Hall, 1st Floor, Convention Center. This meeting, at which MCAA officers will be elected for the coming year, is open to MCAA members only. Badges must be worn for admittance.
PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION
This hour-long social get-together will take place on Sunday, February 14, at 2:00 p.m. in Orlando and Casselberry Halls, 1st Floor, Convention Center. All MCAA members and their ladies are invited. The reception will be followed at 3:00 p.m. by a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opening the '82 MCAA Educational Trade Show in Florida Hall, Convention Center.

MCAA EDUCATIONAL TRADE SHOW
The '82 MCAA Educational Trade Show-which will run for three days from Sunday, February 14, through Tuesday, February 16-will be staged in Florida Hall of the Convention Center. Some of the larger equipment displays will also be shown in a designated area adjacent to the hotel. See "Masonry Industry Showcase" below for information on the outdoor live demonstrations of material handling equipment.

MASONRY INDUSTRY SHOWCASE
To be held Tuesday morning, February 16, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot opposite the main lobby of the Hyatt House. Here, some of the nation's leading manufacturers will put their machines through the paces in live demonstrations of masonry construction equipment for the benefit of MCAA mason contractors. As in years past, the program will be presented by the MCAA Material Handling and Safety Committees.
