Charlotte, N.C., has appointed Dick Connors construction district sales manager for South Florida.

Interstate Brick Co., West Jordan, Utah, has added Jeff Widmann to its sales force as marketing rep in California. Harley Ellington Pierce Yee Associates, Detroit-based architects/ engineers/planners, and Mountain, Kasch & Associates, P.C., Denver architects, have formed a third firm to serve clients in the Rocky Mountain region. The new firm is known as Mountain Kasch/HEPY, P.C. L. John Rankine, director of standards & data security, IBM Corp., has been elected president of the American National Standards Institute.

Glenn F. Groth, AIA, has been named vice president of design for Phillip C. Ferguson, AIA & Associates, a major Southern California architectural/engineering/planning firm based in North San Diego County. Thomas M. Fielding has been promoted to national sales manager of Buchtal USA, Atlanta, Ga. Hertz Equipment Rental & Leasing has appointed James R. Maetzold division vice president with headquarters in Dallas, Tex. Robert C. Broshar, FAIA, Waterloo, la., was recently inaugurated president of the American Institute of Architects.

The slides, produced by the International Masonry Institute and researched by Thomas Walton, Ph.D., Department of Architecture & Planning, Catholic University, shows masonry at its very best.

J I Case Co.'s Construction Equipment Division, Racine, Wis., has named E. L. "Skip" Koerth manager of marketing administration and Louise D. Hermsen marketing services manager. J. Ivan Davison, retired associate research officer of the National Research Council of Canada, Division of Building Research, Halifax, Nova Scotia, is the 1982 recipient of the Walter C. Voss Award from ASTM, the internationally recognized standards writing organization.
