Vol. II MCAA Jurisdictional Disputes Manual
Volume II of the MCAA Jurisdictional Disputes Manual has been released and mailed to all MCAA members.
If you're in the mason contracting business, jurisdictional trade disputes can pose monumental problems causing work stoppages and costly delays. But many of the problems encountered can easily be resolved if a common-sense approach is used. This is where the MCAA Jurisdictional Disputes Manuals come in to help you!
This 50-page edition is a valuable supplement to Vol. I, 3rd Edition, and contains the significant NLRB decisions that have been rendered since 1978 together with current arbitration cases. Special emphasis in this Volume is placed on the operation of forklifts and erection and dismantling of scaffolding.
This new and updated edition further contains a significant case from the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Additional copies of Volume II are available at $5.00 per copy, plus $.75 for postage and handling, from the MCAA Executive Office, 17W601-14th Street, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, (312) 620-6767.
SAN DIEGO continued from page 7
Because Baja California is a duty-free zone for foreign imports, many items cost less in Tijuana than in their country of origin. Since the peso was devalued in 1976 and again in August of this year, prices should be extremely attractive during the month of February when MCAA meets in San Diego.
Many types of liquor are also substantially cheaper in Tijuana, especially Mexican tequila, Kahlua and premium beer. Wine lovers will enjoy Mexico's many domestic wines and brandies. The Santo Tomas vineyards are located in Baja California and were the first vineyards in the Californias.
"Montezuma's Revenge" Minimized
An endless variety of Mexican foods, much of it spicy, also can be found in Tijuana. "Montezuma's revenge" notwithstanding, most people find they can eat and drink anything they desire in Tijuana without problems. Persons with sensitive stomachs should take the same precautions in Tijuana as they would anywhere. Tijuana's drinking water is monitored regularly at government supervised water distillation facilities, although all major restaurants and hotels use bottled drinking water.
These are but some of the intriguing highlights of San Diego and its immediate surroundings. More details about the MCAA Conference program will be forthcoming and passed along to the membership as they are finalized. So remember the dates February 20-24, 1983 and the place San Diego and plan to be there!
