Brick Dominates Santa Rosa Plaza
Santa Rosa Plaza, a major regional shopping center located on a 30-acre site in downtown Santa Rosa, Calif., is expected to play a key role in the re-establishment of the central city as a major commercial center. The 883,000 sq. ft. building is finished entirely in brick. A dominating feature is the 36 ft. high entrance arch facing one of the city's main thoroughfares. From the outside, the effect of the large arch surrounded by brickwork is quite striking. From the inside, the view through a large fan-like window in the arch to the city's main street is spectacular, particularly at night. Bolles Associates of San Francisco was the architect.
