Architects, Mason Contractors Honored
With Excellence In Masonry Awards
Illinois Indiana Masonry Council Makes Presentations
Honors were bestowed on architects and mason contractors in the 9th annual Excellence In Masonry awards banquet held recently by the Illinois Indiana Masonry Council at the Arlington Park Hilton Hotel, Arlington Park, III. More than 500 persons attended the presentation.
Awards for "Excellence In Masonry Design" were presented to the winning architectural firms. "Excellence In Masonry Design Execution" awards were given to the selected mason contractors.
The Gold Medal Award, the top honor, went to Perkins & Will, Architect, and to Hansen & Hempel Co., mason contractor, for the Wyman-Gordon Pavillion at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey. III.
Four Silver Medal Awards were presented to:
* Mastro & Skylar, architect, for the Cleveland/Armitage Condominium. Chicago, III.
* Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, architect, for the West Suburban Plaza at West Suburban Hospital & Medical Center, Oak Park, III. Pepper Construction Co. was the mason contractor.
* David Swan/Architect, for The Willows apartment complex, Chicago. Forsgren Construction Co. was the mason contractor.
* Sisco/Lubetsky Associates, Ltd. and Consoer/Morgan, architects, for the Evanston (Ill.) Public Works Service Center. The mason contractor was Esche & Lee. Inc.
