New Report Details When to Sell Your Business

There are 22 situations which occur or develop in a business which indicate that an owner should plan on stepping back and letting the next generation take over or find a buyer. Based upon nearly 25 years of experience of a business broker and acquisition consultant, this report is of considerable value to business buyers because it shows how to identify a potential seller. For any business owner, it points out those negative situations which spell time to retire.

Among the situations cited in the four-page report are obvious ones-partner/co-owners contemplating estate planning, a business overburdened with nonproductive debt (as for new housing), an older owner's reaction to litigation, etc. But some more subtle ones are also explained-a business purchased by the owner within the past three years, one which has been moved, and any whose owner does not have a marketing background.

The report is available to any business owner/executive who sends $1.00 to cover postage and handling to the Independent Business Institute, P.O. Box 159, Akron, OH 44309. Ask for Report No. 514.

Scaffold Demonstration for St. Louis Mason Tenders

Mason tenders from throughout the St. Louis area watched a demonstration of the correct way to use and maintain Morgen scaffolds, a part of the Morgen Scaffold Training Seminar conducted recently by the Mason Tenders' Joint Training Fund. More than 70 mason tenders from St. Louis Laborers' Union locals along with mason contractors and supervisors participated in the training session at the St. Louis Masonry Centre. The Mason Contractors Association and the Eastern Missouri Laborers' District Council conducted the program to increase mason tenders' knowledge of how to use Morgen scaffold systems.
