R. E. Dailey & Co., a Detroit general contractor and construction management firm, announced the promotions of Thomas Huff and James Messink to senior vice presidents. Dr. George S. Wham, v.p. & technical director of Good Housekeeping Magazine and Institute, has been elected chairman of the American National Standards Institute. He also has been awarded the Institute's Howard Coonley Medal for "outstanding contributions to voluntary standardization."
Tamms Industries Co., Itasca, III., a construction materials manufacturer, has appointed Thomas M. Hamilton v.p. of sales and named Robert F. Morgan v.p. of marketing. F. Cris Noto has been named national sales manager for the Chemical Construction Materials Division of Atlas Minerals & Chemicals, Inc., Mertztown, Pa.

Easy-Spred, the mortar plasticizer that replaces lime.
Easy-Spred is a mortar plasticizer that performs better and costs less to use than lime. One 7 lb. bag of Easy-Spred replaces a 50 lb. bag of lime. Its water retention capability promotes better curing, less shrinkage, and the contractor doesn't have to retemper as often to maintain plasticity. Board life is increased as much as two times compared to a Portland/ lime mix.
Easy-Spred is made from a formulation of minerals naturally compatible with basic ingredients in mortar, and is effective for use with brick, block or stucco. It accepts color pigments without bleaching, as lime often does, to make a brick color match easier.

W. Burr Bennett Ltd., Northbrook, III., and Concrete Construction Publications, Inc., manager of the "World of Concrete" annual trade show, have been retained by the American Society for Concrete Construction (ASCC) to provide the administrative and management functions for the society. W. Burr Bennett, Jr. will serve as executive director of ASCC.
Dennis J. Hogan has been named marketing director for Fibermesh, Inc., Chattanooga, Tenn. Fibermesh is a multinational manufacturer of polypropylene fibers engineered exclusively for use in concrete and mortar to inhibit shrinkage cracking and as an alternative to wire mesh. Robert W. Simmons has been appointed national marketing manager of Pleko Products, Inc., Tacoma, Wash., manufacturer of exterior wall coating systems.
