New Paddock
When you watched the 113th Kentucky Derby run at Churchill Downs, the horses, jockeys and entourage promenaded and saddled up in the brand new paddock and walking area created by Philadelphia based race-track designers, Ewing, Cole and Krause. The major materials used in the new structure are white brick, gray shingles and red oak stalls.
For the first time, 20 Derby contenders can saddle up simultaneously, contributing to the pageantry of one of the world's most famous races.
This structure was built by Sullivan & Cozart, Inc. with Luckett & Farley Architects/Engineers, Louisville, KY. The Paddock was the winner of the Award of Recognition in the seventh annual awards program sponsored by the Kentuckiana Masonry Institute.
To broaden the scope of its 1,800 sq. ft. ceramic tile showroom, an eye-catching brick room has been added to Huntington/Pacific Ceramics' Trends in Tile Service Center in Anaheim, California.
